Can we believe our senses?

What ever we perceive about the outside world is is due to the input from our five main sensory organs.Every moment of our lives we are bombarded with tons of sensory information  from these senses. Our brain seems to be doing a fantastic job in decoding all these information and taking the right decision..But is it really the case..?
When we get up in the morning and look at the outside world we feel that what we are seeing is the world as it really is..But illusion teaches us that it is not really the case.. In-fact we see illusion because of the brains ability to make sense from the insensible. But the illusion disappearing ball illusion arises from the fact that our brain tends to predict the future from things that have occurred in the past. By doing this the brain does save a lot of time.Otherwise if the brain would have to decode all the information from the visual information alone then we would have to grow huge brains..In-fact how much we love colors there is no thing as colors..its just the creation of our brain to make things appear beautiful and sensible before us..It is not only the eyes that can be fooled but other senses too..for example when we eat a chips we feel that it is crunchy because of the sound we hear after biting it..If it is so designed that we eat a chip and hear a low frequency sound at the same time we will feel that the chips is less crunchy.here are some examples to fool our senses of touch and hearing.....So we see that we cannot believe really our senses..But it is good for our survival and also makes the life whole lot entertaining...!! :-)
